Using current and past world leaders as characters in a new fantasy game about politics and tactics in a city election, PlaySoft Game Systems has created a near real world set of social and political scenarios while gamers vie for control of the great city of Amsterdam.
“We’re pretty excited about the characters and the antics”, says lead game designer, Noah Lyphliss. “Think about what a guy like Bill Clinton might do in a town like Amsterdam, compared to what a tight ass like Ahmadinejad might do. The red light district alone provides all sorts of wild campaign options depending on the character you play.”
Playsoft plans to release the game to the internet this summer, allowing multi player mode across the web. For now, only two world leaders can play against each other. “When Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Saddam Hussein,Vladimir Putin and Margaret Thatcher go heads up for the mayoral position, just imagine what the campaign promises might be like there.”
