Last week, a television broadcast showed how three Jews with skullcaps, two adolescents and an adult, were harassed within thirty minutes of being out in the streets of Amsterdam. Young Muslims spat at them, mocked them, shouted insults and made Nazi salutes. “Dirty Jew, go back to your own country,” a group of Moroccan youths shouted at a young indigenous Dutch Jew. “It is rather ironic,” the young man commented, adding that if one goes out in a burka one encounters less hostility than if one wears a skullcap.

In an effort to arrest the culprits who terrorize Jews, the Amsterdam authorities have ordered police officers to walk the streets disguised as Jews. The Dutch police already disguise officers as “decoy prostitutes, decoy gays and decoy grannies” to deter muggings and attacks on prostitutes, homosexuals and the elderly. Apparently sending out the decoys has helped reduce street crime. The “decoy Jew” has now been added to the police attributes.

Since 1999, Jewish organizations in the Netherlands have been complaining that Jews who walking the Dutch streets wearing skullcaps risk verbal and physical attacks by young Muslims. Being insulted, spat at or attacked are some of the risks associated with being recognizable as a Jew in contemporary Western Europe.

The officers will wear Jewish dress such as skullcaps while patrolling the streets in a bid to cut down verbal and physical attacks on Jews.
The mayor of Amsterdam, Lodewijk Asscher, imposed the strategy after secret footage gathered by the Jewish broadcasting company, Joodse Omroep, showed shouting and making Nazi gestures at a rabbi while he was visiting different areas of the city.
A report in the Telegraph stated: ‘ Jews in at least six Amsterdam neighbourhoods often cannot cross the street wearing a skullcap without being insulted, spat at or even attacked.’
A similar strategy has already been used to target other hate crimes by using decoy prostitutes, homosexuals and elderly people.
Once the officers spot the abusers, they can then catch the offenders and charge them.
A spokesperson said: ‘If we receive several reports of street robbery in a certain location, we send out the granny.  That soon quietens things down.’

Unable to ignore the public outcry any longer, Amsterdam’s mayor is now doing what American cops have done for decades when attempting to ferret out ‘Johns’ frequenting prostitutes: he ordered law enforcement personnel to impersonate Jews to catch perpetrators in the act. The Telegraph explains that this methodology may sound unorthodox, but is already a tried and true means of catching would-be muggers and would-be assailants of Amsterdam’s gay population.

Amsterdam police may use ‘decoy Jews’ to stop attacks
To stop anti-Semitic attacks in Amsterdam, Dutch police may use “decoy Jews,” according to reports out of the Netherlands. The city already dresses officers as prostitutes, gays and grandmothers to curb crime and anti-homosexual attacks.
The city’s mayor is considering the idea, which was suggested by a Moroccan-born member of Parliament after a TV broadcast showed young Moroccan immigrant men shouting insults and making Nazi salutes at a rabbi and two school children who traveled around Amsterdam. “I say, send fake Jews to arrest the attackers,” said Ahmed Marcouch, who came to Holland when he was a boy. “Everything must be done to keep this phenomenon from growing. It seems like small incidents, but this is serious.”
The head of an anti-Semitism watchdog in the Netherlands said “it has become common for Jews to hide their skull-caps on the street,” and local reports cited by Britain’s Telegraph reported that “Jews in at least six Amsterdam neighborhoods often cannot cross the street wearing a skullcap without being insulted, spat at or even attacked.”

Anti-Semitism has gotten so ugly in The Netherlands that Jews walking along Amsterdam’s street are being harassed by young Muslims who yell insults or give Nazi salutes. Last Sunday, a Dutch TV channel aired a secretly recorded video that showed a rabbi enduring such harassment, according to a Dutch news report.   To fight such anti-Semitism, Acting Amsterdam Mayor Lodewijk Asscher has hit upon a novel crime-fighting idea: “Decoy Jews.”   Dutch police “already use people posing as pensioners and gay men in an effort to catch muggers and gay-bashers,” noted DutchNews. … Jewish decoys”: the answer to anti-Semitic aggression? Several of today’s papers report on a proposed new method to counter aggression towards the Jewish community in the Netherlands: “Jewish decoys”. In other words, law enforcers posing as members of the Jewish community in order to catch offenders red handed. In de Volkskrant a spokesperson for the City of Amsterdam says the method fits with the mayor’s “aim to examine unorthodox approaches to stop violence involving discrimination”.

One of the drawbacks of modern technology is the way it allows us to remain in a digital version of our own territory even when we’re elsewhere on the planet.
